John reviewed the
issues from the most recent Federation meeting.
Meeting minutes were sent to all club members via email, so not all
issues are included here. Federation
officer elections were done, with the VP spot the only one with multiple
candidates. Rich Lindgren was the club's
vote, which will be cast at the next meeting in December.
Our own club
elections will be held in December, so nominations were opened for all
offices. The following nominations were

Elections will remain
open until the December meeting at which time elections will be held.
James brought a menu
from one potential banquet location in
Pat explained that
he has paid the deposit for lodging at next year's TOC, leaving the treasury
low. It was agreed that the club will
need to pursue a sponsor in addition to increasing the dues to $125/year. Dues should be paid by the next meeting. Pat has been hoping to get $2500 from a
sponsor in exchange for a combination of the following:
Capra's was not
interested in this proposal. Other
potential sponsors being pursued include Thorne Bros, and Sportsman's
Warehouse.
The club still has
room for several new members. If you
know of anyone who might be interested, bring them to the next meeting.
The club voted to
change from 6 lakes per year to 7, with a single throw-out tournament. John is collecting nominations for lakes, and
is looking for more metro area options specifically. Bring them to the next meeting if you have
any ideas.
The club voted to
create two new trophies: most improved and big bass. Most improved will not be awarded this year,
but start next season.
The club voted for
several modifications to the SOY points system, in order to make it focus less
on angling abilities and more on club participation/leadership. The points will now be awarded as follows:
