Golden Hook Bassers Meeting Minutes

Meeting Date: 04/29/2006

Meeting Place: Capra's

Meeting Time: 9:30

In attendance were the following club members:  Nick, John, Pat C, Dave M, Steve M, Chris, Jason, Guy, Wayne P, Tony, Joe, Steve O, Pat P, Ron, James, Wayne R, Mike Jr, Mike Sr

All club members in attendance signed the rules sheet and several submitted insurance paperwork.  If you are a boater, you must have your declaration page to Steve O. before the first tournament begins.

Pat announced the Cub Scouts that we held an outing with last year are now Boy Scouts.  They would like to do an outing again this year.  Pat discussed how we could use people both on the water and on shore to help the scouts earn merit badges.  The badges included several requirement the scouts would have to meet including tying knots, catching and cleaning fish, etc.  The club members agreed to pursue the outing.  Potential dates for the event to be proposed to the scouts are 7/29 and 8/12.  Pat will see if either of those dates work for the scouts, and more details will follow.

The draw for boater/non-boaters was held.  See the table at the end of these minutes for the results of that draw.

Pat proposed bringing potential members to fish our regular tournaments.  In order to do so, he recommended that the club have guests sign a release before being allowed to attend.  He will use the release signed by the scouts' parents as a guide to draft the document.

Guy presented the state federation report.  The state tournament for 2007 will be Leech Lake.  The dead fish penalty did not pass due to not enough clubs submitting votes, so our club will not be adopting that change.  Our club rules sheet that everyone signed reflects the appropriate (previous year's) penalty.   John has order forms for more Fig Rig rods.  For more information see the minutes emailed to all members.

The Medicine Lake tournament, and having a picnic for the families, was discussed.  Pat's wife, Meg, has the list circulated at the annual banquet.  She will be calling wives to remind them what they are signed up for.

The last of the club hats were given out, and John discussed some options for ordering more.  He has spoke with Outkast about having their logo put on our hats and updating the style to be more in-fashion.  Outkast has offered to pay for half the cost of hats if we include their logo, and John will pursue that option.  He will also see if Fig Rig is interested in having their logo included, do to the number of rods the club has ordered from them.  John will find out more information and update as available.

The next club meeting will be the first tournament at Medicine Lake June 9th.
