Golden Hook Bassers Meeting Minutes

 

Meeting Date:  Jan. 26th 2008

Meeting Place: Capra’s

Meeting Time: 9:30

 

In attendance were the following club members: John P, Tony C, Guy K, Chris A, A.J. M, Seth P, Pat P, Wayne P, Steve O

 

Club dues are due. AJ M, Nick M, & Chris A paid today.

 

Secretary was absent. Guy Knudson will be taking minutes today.

 

Plaques have been ordered and need to be paid.

 

Chris confirmed the banquet is setup for 6pm at Manzetti’s in Ramsey, MN. Pat Corrigan was chosen to assemble some prizes.

 

Fed Report by John:

·        The 2008 TOC Alternate Tournament will be held on Pool 5a. Not known yet who we’ll send.

·        The 2008 TOC meeting is at Slipperies.

·        The MN Bass Federation Nation website is now located at www.mnbfn.org

·        Club Crashers; register at www.clubcrashers.com to possibly have Hank Park & Al Linder show up at our club meeting.

·        Sunrise Bass Club wants to move the TOC to the first Thursday/Friday of August. We need to vote on this today. In addition, they are proposing a Regional TOC Qualifying Tournament format.

·        Sign-up for volunteering in the MNBFN booth at the Sports Show at get free admission.

·        Go to www.mnbfn.org to fill out survey of equipment you have for fishing. The info will be used for obtaining sponsors.

·        MNBFN Money Draw Tournament will be June 1st, 2008 on Lake Waconia. $125 member/ $75 non-member. Combined weight. $2500 for first place. Early entry will get higher boat number.

 

The Oct. 11th GHB Club tournament won’t be a points tournament. Decided to make it a fun tournament and discussed throwing $20/angler into a pot to win.

 

Conservation Director Report by Pat P:

·        Pat is solicited the club for ideas.

·        He brought up he would like the club to pick up trash at landings.

 

Youth Director Report by Tony:

·        Suggested having a Boy Scout Outing.

 

Steve O has accepted the Tournament Director position for 2008 and will start acquiring permits.

 

Capra’s offered discounts and specials in a handout.

 

Calendars were handed out that the GHB bought from Boys & Girls Club of America.

 

Floor was opened for discussion:

·        Wayne P. suggested not pre-fishing the TOC water and would rather pick a local lake. It was voted to vote on a new lake at the 2008 banquet for replacing the TOC waters.

·        In regards to Sportsman of the Year, it was voted to remove “prizes” from the last meeting and bring up for discussion at the banquet.

 

Next MNBF meeting is March 1st at the Medina Ballroom.

 

Next GHB Club meeting is March 15th, 9:30am at Capra’s.
